You’ve been hearing about CBD from social media, magazines, friends, co-workers and you have finally decided to see for yourself what the fuss is all about. But … where does one begin? With such a wide choice of products and brands a CBD newbie can easily get lost.

Don’t worry, we’ve all been CBD rookies at first, so we totally get it and have got your back. Here is your guide that will help you on every step on the way to ultimate bliss.

What product should I choose?

CBD can be consumed in different forms which means that you have many options to choose from! There is no “better” or “worse” when buying CBD, it is strictly personal and depends on your specific need and/or consumption preference. Here are the most common forms of CBD:

Buds (flowers): the CBD cannabis’ natural form. There aren’t many use options except for the traditional “grind and roll”. It has all the same benefits of cannabis and still no high.

Oil/Tincture: one of the most commonly used forms, ideal for those who don’t like smoking/vaping. Oils can be consumed sublingually (under the tongue) or added in the food/beverages (although we would recommend avoiding the latter as the effects of CBD are significantly lowered when passing through the human’s digestive system).

Vape: one of the best forms of CBD for an immediate and quick relief. Compounds are inhaled and absorbed directly from the lungs into the bloodstream.

Edibles: discreet, affordable and tasty! You can find CBD gummies, chocolates, cookies, coffee, tea and honey. However, the concentration of CBD is lower and might only be suitable for mild pain relief.

Cosmetics: CBD-infused topicals are used to treat muscle and joint pain. Ideal for age-related, as well as sport-related issues. They can also treat some skin conditions, like eczema and psoriasis.

How do I know the right dosage?

There is no universal guide when it comes to the CBD dosage. Some brands have their dosage recommendations according to the concentration of CBD. But other factors, such as the individuals’ weight, body chemistry and severity of the condition being treated, can affect the CBD effects and thus should not be disregarded.

With that being said, there isn’t a “one size fits all” dosage, and there will be some trial and error while gauging your proper dosage.

We recommend starting low and slow when using CBD for the first time. Once you figure out your body’s reaction to CBD - you can work your way up to the perfect dose.

The Editor in Chief at Aaron Cadena says:

“A good rule of thumb to determine your proper CBD dosage is to take 1–6MG of CBD for every 10 pounds (4,5kg) of body weight based on the individual’s level of pain.”

When should I expect to see the results?

Despite what many say, it takes some time to see the effects of CBD. There are, of course, products that might give you an immediate relief, however it is the regularity of use, as well as the right dosage that will make you see real, long-lasting results.

Be patient and consistent, and the pay off will be worth it.
