CBD: Beginner's Guide
What is CBD?
CBD stands for cannabidiol, one of the compounds found in the Cannabis plant. CBD is a cannabinoid, just like THC, CBN, CBG and roughly 60 others.
Will it get me high?
It really won’t. CBD is completely non-psychoactive. But it has absolutely incredible effects on your endocannabinoid system, also known as the most important physiologic system involved in establishing and maintaining human health. It is responsible for regulating our sleep, appetite, pain, inflammation, memory, mood, and even reproduction (the video below explains it a little bit more in depth).
What are its health benefits?
The medicinal properties of Cannabis include anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiolytic. Researches suggest that small, regular doses of naturally occurring cannabinoids from hemp and other plants might act as a tonic to our most central physiologic healing system (Medium). Therefore the CBD can help treat epilepsy and seizure disorders, pain and inflammation, PTSD and anxiety, depression, nausea, Crohn’s disease, multiple sclerosis and opioid withdrawal.
Is it legal?
Products containing CBD are totally legal in Switzerland as long as the levels of THC are below 1%.
